Hey all, a Happy Holidays to you! Back on the blog–I know finding engaging choral repertoire is always top of mind, so I thought I would share a list of my favorite choral compositions from 2024!
First off, a couple of ground rules that I used for this exercise:
1–The copyright date needed to be listed as 2024. A lot of websites are promoting music as “new”, but the copyright is actually 2023, or even 2022! While there’s lots of great new music out there, for this exercise, I limited myself to only 2024.
2–I did, however, include compositions where there was a previous voicing, but a new voicing came out this past year. For example, a piece was composed for SATB back in 2022, but then a TTBB voicing was added in 2024–that sort of thing.
3–I only included music that was readily available. In fact, each piece listed includes a link, where you can see the sheet music, listen to recording, and even purchase the piece if you so choose!
4–The pieces are listed in no particular order, although I did try to group them by voicing–SAB, TTB, SSA and then SATB.
